It is a mixture of orange soda and cola, and is a popular drink in German-speaking countries, known there as spezi, the brand's geric trademark The first commercial for this type of soft drink.

Vita Cola is a cola drink produced in Germany. The taste of Vita Cola is described as cola-like with a strong lemony and fruity flavour. It's also significantly less sweet than Afri-Cola, Coca-Cola, or Pepsi, and has a slightly thicker consistency due to the use of citrus fruits and other essential oils in the formula. Vitasoy (unrelated company) also produces a cola drink under the brand name Vita Cola.
The Vita Cola company started in the German Democratic Republic. Introduced in 1957, it was advertised as Brauselimonade mit Frucht- und Kräutergeschmack (Soft drink flavored with fruit and herbs), using a still-secret formula (similar to Coca-Cola's "Merchandise 7X"). At its peak, Vita Cola was bottled at more than 200 plants.

What's great about the Coca-Cola Experience is that, in addition to all the great souvenirs on display, you get to sample Coca-Cola products from around the world. There are some that don't quite fit the American flavor profile, like the tart plum soda from China, which, as my friend Amy puts it, tastes like "barbecued spit water." I agree with that. Then there's Melon frosty Fanta from Thailand, which is awesome, and Viva berry soda from Moldova, the former Soviet Union country. I suggest if you go you sneak in small bottles of gin or vodka by plane to mix some of these drinks and make it a coke happy hour.
But the standout global cola producer for me is Mezzo Mix from Germany. I discovered it at the University of Munich on a fast Eurrrail trip around the continent with my friends. I have to hand it to the Germans for their unique experiments with seemingly strange combinations of flavours. I also discovered Coca-Cola and coffee in Germany, which was finally released in America last year as Coke Blaq.

I've always been a fan of Orange Fanta and orange-flavored soft drinks like Italy's Orangina, which Coke bought from Pernod Ricard in 1999. Unfortunately for us Mezzo Mix fans, it's only available in Atlanta at Coca-Cola Experience and at Disney World in Orlando. I found it quite pricey in the US on some German food company websites, but not Mezzo Mix Zero.
