And it was released at the end of January 2017 as a limited edition, connected to the music potentially called Melodifestival (Swedish qualifiers for the Eurovision Song Contest).

Formerly Mezzo Mix was one of eight international soda flavors offered and tastings at Club Cool at Epcot.

Mezzo Mix was later introduced in the United Kingdom in 2019 as an option for the Coca-Cola Freestyle vending machine.

In the 1990s, there were two types of Mezzo Mix: orange and lemon. The latter was unpopular and discontinued, but a lemon-flavored cola reappeared in 2003. In July 2007, Mezzo Mix Zero was introduced in Germany as a reduced-calorie variant. At the beginning of 2013 around Valentine's Day, Mezzo Mix Berry Love was presented in Germany. Instead of orange flavor, it's a raspberry flavor mixed with cola. It was a limited edition, only available in February.

Vita Cola is a cola drink produced in Germany. The taste of Vita Cola is described as cola-like with a strong lemony and fruity flavour. It's also significantly less sweet than Afri-Cola, Coca-Cola, or Pepsi, and has a slightly thicker consistency due to the use of citrus fruits and other essential oils in the formula. Vitasoy (unrelated company) also produces a cola drink under the brand name Vita Cola.

The Vita Cola company started in the German Democratic Republic. Introduced in 1957, it was advertised as Brauselimonade mit Frucht- und Kräutergeschmack (Soft drink flavored with fruit and herbs), using a still-secret formula (similar to Coca-Cola's "Merchandise 7X"). At its peak, Vita Cola was bottled at more than 200 plants.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain in 1989, the Vita-Cola business quickly collapsed as Western cola brands took its place. However, with the arrival of the Ostalgie (a nostalgia among East Germans for the "good old days"), many of the former GDR's products were brought back, with Vita Cola being one of the most popular.

Thüringer Waldquell of Schmalkald, Thuringia, acquired the rights to the name and formula and began producing Vita Cola in 1994. From 2002 to 2005, Vita Cola sponsored FC Hansa Rostock, a football club from Mecklburg-Vorpommern. Since then, Vita Cola has overtaken Pepsi Cola and continues to gain market share in the former East Germany.

This makes Thuringia one of the few regions in the world where a regional cola brand holds a market leading position.

A 2019 news report stated that the product sold a record 89 million liters in 2018 "making it Germany's most popular domestic cola".

Natural Mineral Water, Sugar, Carbon Dioxide, Acidity Regulators (E270, Citric Acid, Phosphates), Coloring Agent E150D, Natural Flavor, Vitamin C, Caffeine. I just got back from a business trip to Atlanta. Of all the times I've been to Atlanta, I've never been able to try Coca-Cola. Cola is my favorite soft drink - diet cola these days. I even did an award-winning elementary school history fair project called Did you know there was once cocaine in Coca-Cola. My grandfather helped me with my screen, and used his jigsaw puzzle to cut out two large Coke-shaped bottles, which I then painted. I even made a diorama of an early Coca-Cola bottling plant with Hans solo as one of the packers. My project went to the Regional Finals and to the Ohio State Finals where I finished as runner-up. I made a face with a bottle of coke in the Cincinnati Enquirer with a smirk full of arches.

What's great about the Coca-Cola Experience is that, in addition to all the great souvenirs on display, you get to sample Coca-Cola products from around the world. There are some that don't quite fit the American flavor profile, like the tart plum soda from China, which, as my friend Amy puts it, tastes like "barbecued spit water." I agree with that. Then there's Melon frosty Fanta from Thailand, which is awesome, and Viva berry soda from Moldova, the former Soviet Union country. I suggest if you go you sneak in small bottles of gin or vodka by plane to mix some of these drinks and make it a coke happy hour.

But the standout global cola producer for me is Mezzo Mix from Germany. I discovered it at the University of Munich on a fast Eurrrail trip around the continent with my friends. It is an orange-flavored drink introduced by Coca-Cola in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 1973. In the early 1950s, an orange-flavored cola drink called Spezi was launched in Germany, which is generally what is called an orange-flavored cola. There are many other imitation brands of orange-flavored cola. Pepsi has its own version, a name that I absolutely love: Schwepp Schwepp. Orange-flavored cola is very popular in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Mezzo Mix's trademark slogan in German is "Cola kisses Orange" which means Cola kisses orange.

I have to hand it to the Germans for their unique experiments with seemingly strange combinations of flavours. I also discovered Coca-Cola and coffee in Germany, which was finally released in America last year as Coke Blaq.

In the 1990s, there was an orange and lemon flavored Mezzo mix, but the lemon flavor was discontinued due to lack of popularity. Since then there have been a number of new Mezzo Mix introductions. In 2007 Coke released a sugar-free Mezzo Mix Zero, and in 2013 they launched a limited Valentine's Day limited-time Berry Mezzo Mix.

I've always been a fan of Orange Fanta and orange-flavored soft drinks like Italy's Orangina, which Coke bought from Pernod Ricard in 1999. Unfortunately for us Mezzo Mix fans, it's only available in Atlanta at Coca-Cola Experience and at Disney World in Orlando. I found it quite pricey in the US on some German food company websites, but not Mezzo Mix Zero.
